Childhood drama
It’s Tuesday and the girls decided to talk about odd forms of punishment and what people got caught doing as a child. Alexis broke the bed at her mother’s house while having sex.  “That’s what you get for having antiques all throughout the house,” Alexis says.  Anyway, her uncle fixed it for her. At that time, Alexis was living in an apartment over the garage because as she puts it, “you have no idea, you couldn’t live in the same house.” Alexis did not get punished because her mother knew the two were having sex and that’s the only thing the two had in common. Alexis also once got on a train from Connecticut to meet her boyfriend in a hotel where his family was staying.  While she and her boyfriend were having sex, his mother walked in on him going down on Alexis; Jennifer thinks that's the major reason Alexis hates the act of receiving oral sex. Jennifer says she was not a kid that got in a lot of trouble but once in college she thought she was going to get punished because her first semester she had over a 3.0 and her second semester she just stopped going to class… all of them.  Jennifer was so scared about her parents finding out about the grades that she intercepted her report card while her parents were on vacation. Jennifer says her father was never really angry with his children because they were all “really good kids.”  Paulie once got into an argument with his mother, went upstairs to his bedroom desk and wrote on it, “my mother is a bitch.”  Eventually his father came to his room and he didn’t yell at Paul, he just told him that he was worse than the people in jail who rape women, kill children, and murder their grandparents because they would never call their mother a bitch.  Once Paulie got grounded for 6 months because the day his parents finished remodeling the bathroom he came in drunk and threw up in there and his parents said they'd had it with him. Sharon called to say that when she was 15 she told her mom she was babysitting so she could go with a friend to a party and at 1 in the morning her brother came walking through the door at the party and when he got home he told on her.

But she gets to…

The girls got to talking about what their friends were allowed to do that they weren't.  Mindy, who is Jewish, called to say that here parents would not allow her to attend a Catholic youth group. Christy was not allowed to go to concerts like her other friends but she managed to go anyway.  She would sneak out and when all was said and done she went to about 50 concerts.  Her parents had no idea.  Jennifer wanted to go hang out in Port Washington because her friends got to go.  So, even though she was told that she couldn’t, she took a cab there anyway.  Jennifer also wanted to go to Studio 54 at around the age of 8 because her friend was going, but there was no way that was going to happen. Alexis wanted to sit home watch television and eat crap but she had to go out and do things. When it comes to grounding the girls both think it’s worthless, it was just something that did not happen where they grew up.

What turns you off?

John McCain’s daughter, Megan McCain, recently wrote in her blog that she can’t stand dating guys who like to talk politics or are fans of her father or President Obama because it simply ruins her day. Cheryl called to say that people who smack their gums kill her day. Additionally, people making assumptions piss her off. Once while at the supermarket she looked a little rough and this woman told her that she could skip her in line because she was using cash, making the assumption that Cheryl would be using food stamps.

Farewell friend

Alexis has decided to cut a friend that she had for about 15 years. At one point they had a falling out, and then they slowly became friends again. Lately she has been getting emails saying stuff like, “So and so is a musician and would be good on your show” or he just wants something, which Alexis is not too happy about. Alexis and the friend met a chef in the Hamptons many years ago and he kept hanging on to Alexis, and she wound up being nice to him. The guy proposed an idea of opening up a Mexican takeout place so one weekend he came from Chicago to make Mexican food and talk about the restaurant. Well, the food was horrific, he couldn’t find any of the ingredients and he broke a whole bottle of olive oil. Plus, the food left Alexis with bad stomach pain. After that, Alexis had to drive him to the airport, which took 2 hours because there was a snow storm Alexis dropped him off and never wanted to hear from him again. The friend who was with Alexis when she met the guy from Chicago called Alexis last night, and wanted to know if she remembered the guy's last name. Alexis did not know and told the other friend to Google him. After the friend found the chef he told Alexis that the guy said hello, something she was not cool with. Alexis then emailed the friend back and told him, “By the way I’m sure his restaurants suck and I don’t know why you think I’m the go-to person for this stuff.” After emailing each other, Alexis told him something like “lose my personal information.” Alexis felt her friend crossed the line when he contacted the chef and told him how she was doing.

Alexis and texting, continued…

Alexis, as we all know, hates getting text messages because she just finds them annoying. Last night someone texted her and she was angry. The text said, “What do you cook chicken in, peanut oil or canola oil?” Alexis refused to answer until the next day when she was getting her hair colored. She wrote back “I don’t know, that’s what the internet is for.” Alexis then received a text from the woman saying, “Did I do something to piss you off?” Alexis then said “Not really, there was an outrageously negative comment about the radio show on my birthday, but I decided to let that slide.” Jennifer was shocked because Alexis has been holding that in for about five months. Alexis than told the woman that she is not into texting;  email would be a better way to reach her. Alexis has yet to receive a response and Jennifer thinks Alexis has opened a door to a discussion but Alexis doesn’t think the women will like what she sees when she walks through the door.
